Job Overview
We are hiring a skilled window installer responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of windows in residential settings. This role requires a combination of physical labor, technical skills, and attention to detail. Installers work with various materials, including glass, metal, and composite materials, using hand and power tools to ensure proper fit, functionality, and weatherproofing.
Key Responsibilities
- Installation: Measure, cut, and modify window and door units to fit specific openings and customer requirements
- Removal: Safely remove old windows and doors, preparing surfaces for new installations
- Assembly: Measuring, cutting, and assembling window components according to manufacturer specifications
- Quality Installation: Install various types of windows and doors ensuring proper fit, seal, and function
- Sealing & Weatherproofing: Apply sealants and weatherstripping to prevent leaks and drafts
- Material Handling: Safely transport and handle materials like glass, frames, and hardware
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve issues during installation, such as incorrect measurements or fitting problems
- Customer Service: Interact with customers, explain installation procedures, and address any concerns
- Quality Control: Ensure all installations meet quality standards and customer expectations
- Site Preparation: Prepare installation area, including removing old fixtures and ensuring a clean workspace
- Testing: Test for leaks and proper functionality after installation
- Cleanup: Clean up work area after completion
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in construction or related field
- Knowledge of construction techniques and materials
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, including drills, saws, levels, and caulking guns
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
- Valid driver’s license
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Manual dexterity and attention to detail
